Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a leading supplier of specialist metals and alloys.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for the Implementation and oversight of HSEQ procedures across the business, Facilitate continuous improvement in all aspects of HSEQ and operational performance. Provide support and assistance to the operational team. 

The role will: 

  • Have day-to-day responsibility for achieving the high standards of H&S, Environmental, Quality and operations
  • Play an integral part in the HSEQ and Operations departments ensuring customer complaints and Non-conformances are investigated where necessary, causes are identified and improvements implemented.
  • Help managing and maintaining critical HSEQ and operational systems in line with all legal, regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Ensure all customer expectations are met by undertaking overchecks and final inspections for material and outgoing orders against requirements and agreed specifications.

Main roles and responsibilities: 

  • Conducting overchecks of material and paperwork against customer specifications and requirements.
  • Release of material and shipments following final inspections.
  • Dealing with and Investigating complaints from customers in order to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Manage, resolve, report on and reduce non-conformances through CAPAS
  • Conducting internal inspections and safety checks in line with company HSEQ procedures
  • Maintenance and implementation of HSEQ and operational procedures to pursue continual improvement.
  • Assist with maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 Kitemark accreditations.
  • Assist with ongoing compliance of all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with production, control and management of HSEQ documentation.
  • Provide inductions to new staff, visitors, contractors.
  • Facilitate and provide training on HSEQ and operational activities.
  • Support commercial team and customers in HSEQ and operation matters.
  • Source and acquire any new equipment, components or services as required.
  • Preparation of monthly KPIs and analysis of HSEQ/operational performance.
  • Assist with investigations of incidents and gather information as required.

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Have a good attitude, be flexible and willing to take on any tasks you are capable of once training is complete.
  • have the ability to work as part of a team, quickly and efficiently to set deadlines
  • have a working knowledge of Windows based software.
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills.
  • Take reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by acts or omissions with regard to H&S
  • Inform the company of any work situation which may represent a serious and immediate danger to H&S
