Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a leading national, fast growing privately trade wholesale company who have 300 branches throughout the UK. Their wide customer base ranges from sole trader tradespeople to large contractors.

This role is reporting directly to the Company Credit Manager, the Credit Controller is a key member of the credit team, primarily responsible for managing an aged debt portfolio their branches. Although these will be the main responsibilities, you will become part of a flexible team meaning you will have opportunities to get involved in all areas of credit control.

Key duties:

  • Managing a sizeable aged debt ledger including customers ranging from sole traders to national contractors.
  • Chasing customers for payment via various communication methods, primarily phone and email.
  • Taking, allocating and reconciling payments working with the centralised Finance Department
  • Support adhoc Credit Office projects.
  • Maintain and develop excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

 

The Individual

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Credit Controller seeking to apply their skills in a vibrant, fast-paced Credit Office. To meet this challenge you should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • At least two years’ experience in a Credit Department, ideally as a Credit Controller with strong B2B experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail when dealing with payments and allocating cash.
  • Proactive self-starter who is motivated to get the job done.
  • Good time management skills, able to prioritise workload and deliver under pressure of deadlines.
