Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working with an IT organisation based in Chesterfield in the recruitment of an experienced Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the day-to-day processing and payment of supplier invoices, liaising with managers and Finance Controller to ensure that supplier invoices are coded correctly and paid on time.   While the role is primarily focused on purchase ledger there is opportunity to broaden finance experience by working in a small team.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Process and code purchase invoices
  • Ensure that invoices are paid with terms
  • Receiving and processing goods purchased by the company
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Support the Finance team, helping with billing and processing purchase orders
  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring that the invoice is correct and cleared for payment
  • Preparing batches of purchase invoices ready for payment after authorisation by Financial Controller
  • Receive purchase orders and book into stock
  • Contact suppliers to resolve queries and deal with issues such as missing invoices
  • Participate in stock counts
  • Code credit card bill, obtaining backing information from card holders
  • Post and pay approved expenses
  • Placing purchase orders  and approving and posting work
  • Support the Finance Team in resolving outstanding queries through with the support of the SMT
  • Ad hoc work as required by the Finance Controller
