Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected manufacturing company, to recruit a Production Supervisor, initially on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent.

This is an exciting opportunity to improve standards of efficiency, effectiveness, working with a small team in this long established Sheffield based company.  The successful candidate will be working alongside several long term staff, which offers a  great insight into the company culture.

We’re looking for a proactive and hands‑on leader to oversee daily operations across our client’s Production, Warehouse and Distribution functions in Sheffield and Nottingham.  If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy improving processes, and know how to get the best out of a team, this role will suit you perfectly.

Key Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor:

• Leading the day‑to‑day running of the factory and warehouse, continually improving working practices to reduce waste and boost efficiency.
• Working to lean manufacturing principles and performance KPIs.
• Maintaining high quality standards, investigating non‑conformances and driving corrective actions.
• Managing the Production Operative team and Drivers, ensuring attendance, conduct and performance meet company expectations.
• Overseeing delivery schedules to ensure customer orders are met on time and to the correct standard.
• Allocating driver and factory resources effectively throughout the day.
• Supporting training, onboarding and ongoing development of Production Operatives.
• Collaborating with other Managers to improve overall operational efficiency.
• Carrying out opening and closing routines as part of the key‑holding team.
• Taking full responsibility for Health & Safety compliance across Production, Warehouse and Distribution.
• Ensuring the production schedule is followed and managed throughout the shift.
• Minimising machinery downtime by identifying issues early and taking action.
• Ensuring maintenance schedules (internal and external) are followed.
• Meeting the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Working independently, using your initiative to keep operations running smoothly.

Candidate Requirements for the Production Supervisor:

• Counterbalance FLT Licence
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Good people management
• Positive attitude and happy to chip in
