Sue Ross Recruitment are looking for someone to join our clients central team in a pivotal support role, helping ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of their organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to build new skills—particularly in the field of social investment—and to play an important part in our mission to help create a fairer and more equitable society for all.

This is such a intersting and varied role, working closely with the Operations Manager. Your duties will include:

Marketing

  • Create engaging social media content using Canva
  • Manage daily activity across social channels
  • Update and maintain the website
  • Support delivery of the wider marketing strategy

Governance

  • Support Operations with Board and Subcommittee activity
  • Organise meetings, manage diaries, and take minutes/action notes
  • Maintain accurate action logs and records
  • Update Companies House where required
  • Maintain registers of interest for Board, Panel and staff

Human Resources

  • Maintain accurate training, annual leave, and absence records
  • Keep employee files updated
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, and induction processes

Health & Safety

  • Liaise with internal leads and external suppliers to ensure compliance
  • Keep track of annual checks and highlight issues as they arise

Building & Facilities

  • Liaise with utility providers and service contractors
  • Coordinate annual and ad hoc services such as PAT testing

General Office Support

  • Manage incoming/outgoing post
  • Order stationery and supplies
  • Organise catering when required
  • Maintain accurate filing systems

Key requirements and experience:

 

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to keep clear, up‑to‑date action lists and diary entries
  • Work confidently with processes and systems to ensure compliance
  • Ability to identify operational issues early and suggest solutions
  • Good research skills across various sources
  • Clear presentation of ideas
  • Willingness to review and improve processes
  • Confident in emails, social media posts, website text, and presentations
  • Able to adapt tone and complexity to different audiences
  • Strong note‑taking and record‑keeping
  • Able to explain processes clearly and accessibly
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and balance competing demands
  • Commitment to learning, growth, and continual improvement
  • Proactive approach to meeting deadlines and anticipating issues
