Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a very well-established company with links to Sheffield’s highly respected and world-famous cutlery trade.

Joining a small, dedicated team with brand new offices you will work closely with the MD, leading on all marketing activities.

They are about to embark on some exciting NPD launches and new trade campaigns, that requires an experienced Marketing Executive/Manager to be the vital link between the company and their customers, ensuring that they are fully-equipped to offer the best product display, pricing and brand language.

You will deal with customers but ultimately have a sound understanding of how they communicate to the end user, so both B2B and B2C experience is essential, as you’ll need to ensure all the marketing campaigns and projects are timely and successful, so strong organisation is vital.

You’ll be the go-to for budget information, campaign status and product positioning – in their retail, food service and online channels – and be the operations expert for the marketing projects being deployed. You’ll manage agencies and work with many different departments, overseeing the implementation. You’ll ensure that all marketing and sales collateral is correct, being strongly-driven and incredibly-organised to make sure that your campaigns are having the biggest and most successful impact.


Supporting the creation of a channel and category strategy & vision for the UK business;

  • Support and lead Sales and Marketing departments in the areas of business information, category management, channel visibility materials and trade presentations;
  • Initiate and manage category management projects with retailers;
  • Work on key strategic projects with retailers, aiming to influence purchasing behaviour, drive in-store activity for the brand portfolio, and support the sales effort in the creation and implementation of innovative and effective trade support activities.
  • Identify and monitor competitors, researching market conditions
  • Perform ad hoc analyses, shopper research projects and trade communications
  • Independently develop and initiate space management projects

The Person:

 Previous track record in coordinating and managing trade related activities with marketing and sales, supporting category development, NPD launches, delivering tools and presentation materials for customer meetings;

  • Track record in analysing market data, building insights, and utilising data systems such as EPOS,GFK, Mintel, etc
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity in delivering shop-floor activities (e.g. promotions and POS) to add value in line with brand objectives
  • Ability to display initiative and interpersonal skills, and able to work with cross-functional groups across multiple levels of the organization to deliver results;
  • Track record of agency management, project management and brief writing
  • Track record in clearly articulating marketing strategies and goals to the sales organization to influence sales tactics and strategies;
  • High level of personal organisation
