Finance Assistant

Sue Ross Recruitment are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join a housing charity in Sheffield. You will be required to work closely with and report directly to the Finance and Payroll Manager, supporting the organisation’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Collect invoices and receipts from Sheffield and nearby areas.
• Assist in the implementation of purchase order system.
• Provide support for purchase ledger processes.
• Issue invoices and manage credit control within the mental health sector.
• Follow up on unreconciled items and resolve outstanding historical discrepancies.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly management accounts, year-end reports, pensions, and payroll.
• Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries.

The ideal candidate should possess at least two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping and demonstrate a thorough understanding of confidentiality, information sharing, financial due diligence, and risk mitigation. Proficiency in using finance software systems such as Xero and Sage is also essential.
