Sue Ross Recruitment are working for a hugely successful specialist supplier of heath/super foods.  Due to continued success and growth they are looking for a determined, enthusiastic Account Manager to join their team.

Working closely with the Sales Manager and Supply Chain team, your main objective will be to maximise the amount of business generated by customers in your account portfolio. The role is a combination of reactive order management (with up-selling and cross-selling where appropriate) and proactive business development where you look to introduce products from their range to the customer where they are either not selling that product currently or are buying elsewhere and are not actively looking for new suppliers. Your account base will be a mixture of end-user manufacturers, SME businesses and resellers. You will be expected to proactively contact these accounts regularly by phone balancing business development within your customer base with day-to-day order management. Time management and effective communication skills are essential to maximising customer service and mutual value creation.  The major KPIs will be sales and margin, with an uncapped bonus structure in place based on both individual and team performance.

This role would suit a candidate who is ambitious, energetic and wants to get ahead by demonstrating the right ability and attitude. Our client is growing rapidly, so the opportunities for promotion are limited only by your success in the role.

Key Responsibilities/accountabilities:

  • Generating sales orders from existing customers to deliver to the team sales target.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase the range of products each customer buys from us.
  • Supporting the customer with all enquiries they have with the business, liaising with other teams to answer these queries.
  • Full account management from point of quotation to after-sales care
  • Working closely with Logistics and Operations to ensure deliveries are made in line with customer requirements
  • Working with Finance to ensure customer payments are made in line with commercial agreements.
  • Correctly processing all quotes and orders in SAP.

Skills:

  • Ability to form positive commercial relationships and effectively sell to customers over the telephone.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to deliver against customer expectations.
  • Ability to influence internal customers at all levels to profitably fulfil your customer’s needs.
  • Ability to use SAP preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.

Experience:

  • This role would suit a candidate with previous internal sales and/or account management experience from any industry.
  • Ability to deliver against targets and excel in a sales environment
  • Experience in owning the sales process from quotation through to completion.
