Communications Manager (Interim contract) - Sheffield

Duration: 3 months FTC (potentially longer)

Sue Ross Recruitment are currently assisting a wonderful, national not for profit organisation, who have an immediate requirement for a Communications & Marketing Manager.  This is an interim post initially to start immediately however they are also going to be recruiting this role on a permanent basis in the long term.  Your remit will be to plan and deliver an engaging programme of internal and external communications with all stakeholders, inspiring them with an ambitious vision for the future.  You will have full responsibility, for both internal and external communications, with full support of the Group Head of Marketing.  Although the role is predominantly Sheffield based there will be some travel involved.  Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Line management of a Communications Officer
  • Communications planning
  • Writing copy for different audiences arranging the production of multimedia content (documents, graphics, videos, animations) to meet all the requirements of the communications plan
  • Acting as a Brand Guardian, managing public facing channels such as the website and social media channels
  • Project management of specified pieces of work
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building between the charity, colleagues, families and others through delivery of compelling content across multiple digital and offline channels including family newsletters, e-newsletters, website, intranet, social media
  • Data management including having a good understanding of GDPR

 

Aside from the obvious Communications/PR experience you will ideally have a diverse range of skills – indesign, wordpress, events management, videography, animation.  You must have broad experience in copywriting for a diverse audience together with planning and delivery of internal or external communications plans.   You will have strong interpersonal skills with tact and diplomacy and maintain calm under often highly pressurised circumstances.  There is some flexibility as certain gaps could be accommodated by other members of the team.
