Sue Ross Recruitment are working with their client, a growing, dynamic organisation, to recruit an experienced MI Analyst.  The position will provide the opportunity to analyse data from every aspect of the business, including Operations, Finance, HR, and all relevant data that can be extracted from their database. The role will support the business in the creation and production of performance and planning activities, supplying the company with consistent and meaningful insight into Management Information (MI) whilst remaining flexible and adaptive to changes in the environment. Working with vast amounts of data available, the successful candidate will utilise advanced spreadsheet/ SQL and problem-solving skills to answer key questions, pulling out relevant information and presenting in a clear and concise manner.

 

 Key duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Communicate with internal and external clients in professional manner, conveying complex ideas in an accessible and engaging way
  • Enable analytical and operational MI through development of systems, dashboards or reports
  • Analyse existing data sources to understand the information and ensure data quality
  • Develop and maintain code to enhance the quality and ease of use of the data
  • Build reporting solutions and MI packs using the most appropriate technology available
  • Engage in project work as required
  • Bespoke performance reporting for internal departmental managers
  • Understand the extraction methods and support the extraction of data from primary sources
  • Work directly with multiple business stakeholders to elicit and understand MI requirements
  • Develop and enhance robust MI processes including development, peer review, testing, release and transfer to operations
  • Contribute towards improving the development standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Identify and effectively escalate risks and issues with systems and data requirements

 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Educated to degree level specifically in Computing, Mathematics or Statistically related discipline, or else extensive relevant professional experience
  • Have extensive experience of adopting Agile methodologies, engaging and collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Have a good working knowledge of MS Office Systems (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word) and Microsoft Sequel Server ( Transact-SQL (TSQL) , SQL Server Reporting Services

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to think strategically, solve problems, multi task and use excellent research skills to search through data.
