Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a local charity in the recruitment of a Part-time HR Manager, due to an internal promotion. 


This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a dedicated and established team. 


 You will  be the professional and expert face of HR and Learning & Development (L&D), instilling confidence and trust in the Executive, Heads of Department, operational managers and staff.   You will work with the Executive Lead for HR, Volunteering and L&D to ensure the HR and L&D strategy is met and in turn deliver the HR and L&D business plan. 


You will ideally have previous supervisory skills as you will effectively lead the HR, L&D and administrative functions. 


Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Management and Development - To build effective working relationships with key members of the organisation – Trustees, the Executive and Management teams 
  • Review, monitor and evaluate on-going HR and L&D services in order to provide the best possible service and support
  • Ensure managers and staff receive effective and appropriate advice and support on the implementation and interpretation of HR policies and procedures, including own HR caseload.
  • To continually review and monitor progress against the HR business plan and ensure that staff and budget resources are appropriately allocated and deployed
  • Continually monitor the team’s objectives and performance and report progress on a regular basis to the Executive Lead for HR, Volunteering and Learning & Development 
  • Provide effective HR leadership, management and support to all staff as may be required.
  • Lead the on-going development, monitoring and maintenance of the internal formal 121 process to ensure it is an effective system
  • Organisational Development
  • Provide support to the Executive and management teams to implement organisational change and future departmental reviews. 
  • Oversee the management and development of systems to provide HR and L&D information, including regular statistical reports for presentation at various meetings including Management and organisational meetings
  • Work closely with the Executive Lead for HR, Volunteering and Learning & Development in producing financial forecasts and detailed resource cost analysis for reporting purposes.
  • Work closely with the Executive Lead for HR, Volunteering and Learning & Development to develop and deliver the strategy for the maintenance and monitoring of all resource planning and recruitment and retention issues
  • Ensure a comprehensive recruitment service is provided including areas such as selection, pre-employment assessment, selection events, testing, DBS, and Occupational Health screening. Develop the current HR database to support employee and volunteer information and provide statistical reporting
  • Develop internal systems across administration functions to ensure the organisation operates as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of the learning and development provision and service, including the delivery of HR Management modules Policy Management
  • Ensure that effective and appropriate HR policies and procedures are up to date and in place which meet current and changing legal requirements, best practice and organisational objectives. 
  • Support line managers in the implementation of policies and procedures. 

 

 

This truly is a fantastic opportunity for a CIPD qualified HR generalist.    This is a permanent, part time role working 30 hours per week, ideally over 4 or 5 days per week.
